3 Types of Glasses and the Drinks That Go With Them

Being a brewery owner, you probably know the basics of bartending. However, it’s nice to get a refresher every once in a while. One marketing strategy for your brewery is to pair your drink special with a special on glasses with your brewery’s branding. Let’s get into that refresher on which glass to use for your drink special.

Cocktail & Martini Glass

The traditional cocktail glass has a long stem and wide rim. Its classic triangle silhouette of the bowl is an iconic look. A martini glass and a cocktail glass are referred to interchangeably, but oftentimes, a martini glass has a wider rim than a cocktail glass. These glasses are used for cocktails that don’t have ice, aromatic drinks, and martinis. The wide rim allows the drinker to take in the smell while drinking.

Snifter Glass

Similar to our Belgian Beer Glass, a snifter glass has a short stem and a larger bowl, perfect to hold from the bottom of the bowl, warming the glass, and gently swirl. It can be used for beer, but it is most commonly used for brandy, whiskey, bourbon, and rum.

Wine Glass

There are three kinds of wine glasses: a red wine glass, a white wine glass, and a stemless wine glass. Red wine glasses are what most people think of when wine glasses are mentioned. The wider bowl allows more air to mix with the wine for a smoother experience with red wine. A little more tall and narrow than a classic red wine glass, the white wine glass is great for white wine, sparkling wine, and wine cocktails. It’s similar to our Rioja Wine Glass, made for enjoying all kinds of wine. A stemless wine glass is a sampler glass, perfect for a refreshing taste of any wine. Our Beer, Whiskey, and Wine Sampler Glass is a perfect example.
